22 Weeks: Mom's Tiny Kicker

This week, Baby is 11 inches long...the length of a football.  We have been waiting for this one, considering our love for Dallas football!  This also has a connection to how we announced the Baby to our families.  I bought these Announcement T-shirts before Christmas 2010 thinking that we would definitely be pregnant by then (after 6 months of trying).  We planned on opening up gifts with the shirts inside on Christmas morning.  This did not go to plan...
I couldn't even look at the shirts over the next several months.  There was a bitter attitude towards them so they just stayed in their boxes...closed and taped up.  Christmas 2011 came around and we were still without baby.  Oh well, God's got this!  The bitterness was gone, but it would have been nice to be able to follow the original plan...even if it was a year later.
We didn't find out we were pregnant until the end of January 2012. (Yay!)  Christmas hadn't been that long past, so we figured a way to tell our families with the shirts (late Christmas gifts of course!).

Check out the videos to see the big surprise announcement!

Back to Baby: Baby Boyd is almost a pound and is looking more like a newborn at this point.  I feel movement more and more everyday.  This has been the best!  I am starting to feel more of a connection with Baby (probably because work is winding down).  Starting to look forward to reading some books and looking at baby items.  I have my Baby Shower today at Challenger with all my teacher friends!  They are so sweet, always asking about me and the baby.

One more BIG THING: We put an offer down on a house!  It's a brand new home in Henderson on the west side of town.  We are in love!  Please pray that every bit of paper work goes through smoothly so we can call it ours in August.  Perfect timing before Baby's arrival in September.

Until next time!

21 Weeks

Baby’s progress: 21 weeks
Total weight gain for Mommy: 8 lbs.  Weighed in on Monday with a whopping gain of 3 lbs.!
Food cravings:  I have been wanting Ravioli lately?  But this is no different from a non-preggo want.   I kind of wish I had more cravings, seems like one of the perks of pregnancy.  I am not as strict as I used to be.  A little bit of this and that makes my belly happy.
Feeling nauseous? No nausea.
Symptoms of pregnancy: My intense, sharp back pain has vanished.  Still have the normal stress against my lower back at the end of the day, but nothing like before.  Acne has been pretty consistent.  Much more tired at night.
Working out? Still moving!  Insanity in the mornings before work and a run with Delilah on Sundays.
Maternity clothes?: I bought a couple shirts a few weeks ago in excitement!  One is way too big still.  All my pants are cooperating with the help of the belly band.  My goal is to avoid buying maternity pants at all since this will be a summer pregnancy.  I love wearing whatever makes my belly look the biggest.
Mood: Feeling good and happy! (Especially because summer break is soooo near.)
Sleep: I...AM...TIRED...AT NIGHT.  Much more tired than before.  Sleeping is great!  Still can sleep on my back comfortably if needed (thanks to our super comfy bed which molds to my ever-so-changing body).
Movement: I have a mover!  Don't notice everyday.  Doctor is always talking about how we have a crazy one in there!  Last Sunday for Mother's Day we were watching a movie so I was very still for a couple hours.  That's the most I have felt this little one move.  Feeling baby in more than one spot too.
Stretch marks?: No
Wedding ring on? Yes
Best moment of the week: Having more and more people notice my belly.  We had our Spring Program on Tuesday and all the parents were overjoyed to see the baby belly.  It's such a great feeling to talk about this baby so proudly.
Changes during the week?: Not that I noticed...
Miss anything from life before baby?: It would be nice to have a glass of wine every once in a while.  I don't miss it enough to have my safe "half-glass for pregnant women" though.  Also would love to have a big ol' sandwich, but the deli meat thing has eliminated that idea.
Looking forward to:  BIG KICKS!  I know everyone says, "Oh just wait!  You'll be beggin' that kid to stop!"  Until I agree with all of you, I am ready for the punches.

HALFWAY-20 Weeks!

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have made it halfway down the field and will continue to make big plays until September.  I can't believe it!

We (Bryan, myself, and both sets of parents and Demi) got to see the baby on Monday at a special ultra sound place where they are able to view the baby with more details.  The baby is getting so much bigger!  11 ounces to be exact.  I was thinking how crazy it is that at halfway, the baby has not even reached the 1 pound marker...what amazing growth is about to happen in the 2nd half!  It's as if the baby will increase 600-700%!  Hopefully Mommy's body doesn't so the same.  As you know I was very concerned about a slip in revealing the gender, but they were very professional calling our baby "Troublemaker" and "Parasite".  :)
They checked all the major organs (seeing the heart and its 4 chambers was the coolest!).  The only hiccup we ran into was the kidneys seem to have a bit more fluid in them than necessary.  We go back in 8 weeks to evaluate if this has gotten better.  Trying to convince the kid that there is no need to be shy about just letting it out...going to the restroom is a very safe and natural activity!  After the doctor we went to Yardhouse to celebrate life and family.  Please pray for the "fix" of this little bump in the road.

Back pain has seemed to disappear and headaches are no more.  I am more tired than normal.  7 o'clock bedtime always sounds fantastic, yet it never happens.  Looking forward to see Dr. Lewis on Monday to continue to be updated on all that is happening inside me.  As of right now, the baby is the size of a 10 inch banana head to toe (this is how the baby will be measured now since it can stretch a bit more).  Movement is very minimal.  If I sit really, really still I can feel a kick or spasm the size of a marble.  Everyone got to feel at the dinner table the other night.

Love you all!

19 Weeks

19 Weeks and things are continuing to be great!  The baby is 6 inches long from head to rump and weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, a little half pounder!  Something exciting is that the senses are developing very quickly, which means that Baby Boyd might be able to hear us in there.  Time to sing, sing, sing!

Something to look forward to is our ultrasound on Monday!  We have seen the baby before, but not through a higher-tech ultra sound place.  Hoping for crazy energy and crossed legs of modesty.  No revealing little one!

We continued to move this week and are officially out of the apartment.  It was a great three years, looking forward to finding a home next.  We have started looking so fingers crossed while trusting God's big plan.

Living at Mom and Dad's has been great...they have a lot of snacks. :)  Blessings!
